पूर्वदिशि सीतामार्गण-नियोगः (Deployment to the Eastern Quarter for the Search of Sita)
एतावद्वानरैश्शक्यं गन्तुं वानरपुङ्गवाः।।4.40.67।।अभास्करममर्यादं न जानीमस्ततः परम्।
etāvadvānaraiś śakyaṃ gantuṃ vānarapuṅgavāḥ || 4.40.67 ||
abhāskaram amaryādaṃ na jānīmas tataḥ param |
O foremost of monkeys, up to this point it is possible for the vānara to go; beyond it—where there is no sunlight and no clear boundary—we do not know what lies further.
'O chieftains! monkeys can go that far. We know not what lies beyond those boundaries where no Sun shines.
Satya (truthfulness) in leadership: Sugriva clearly states the limits of known territory instead of pretending certainty, guiding action responsibly.
Sugriva defines the farthest known and feasible extent of travel for the search-party and acknowledges the unknown beyond.
