पूर्वदिशि सीतामार्गण-नियोगः (Deployment to the Eastern Quarter for the Search of Sita)

पूर्वस्यां दिशि निर्माणं कृतं तत् त्रिदशेश्वरैः।।4.40.53।।ततः परं हेममय श्श्रीमानुदयपर्वतः।तस्य कोटिर्दिवं स्पृष्ट्वा शतयोजनमायता।।4.40.54।।जातरूपमयी दिव्या विराजति सवेदिका।

tatra yojanavistāram ucchritaṃ daśayojanam | śṛṅgaṃ saumanasaṃ nāma jātarūpamayaṃ dhruvam ||

There stands a firm golden peak named Saumanasa—one yojana in breadth and rising ten yojanas high.

'The flag of Ananta is fixed by the gods in the eastern direction. Beyond that stands the famous golden mountain behind which the sun rises. Its golden peak with a divine altar spread over a hundred yojanas touches heaven.

Dharma is steadiness (dhruvatā): like the ‘firm’ peak, the seeker must remain unwavering in purpose while traversing vast and uncertain terrain.

Perseverance—remaining fixed on the mission despite distance, scale, and difficulty.
