किष्किन्धाकाण्डे द्वात्रिंशः सर्गः — Lakshmana’s Anger Reported; Hanuman Advises Propitiation and Timely Mobilization
सर्वथा प्रणयात्कृद्धो राघवो नात्र संशयः।भ्रातरं सम्प्रहितवान्लक्ष्मणं लक्ष्मिवर्धनम्।।
rāghaveṇa tu vīreṇa bhayam utsṛjya dūrataḥ | tvat-priyārthaṃ hato vālī śakra-tulya-parākramaḥ ||
Rama, that heroic Raghava, cast your fear far away and, for your happiness, slew Vali—whose prowess was equal to Indra’s.
'Rama's anger is purely out of love for you. He has sent Lakshmana, a bestower of prosperity to you. There is no doubt about it.
Recognition of benefaction and moral obligation: when help is given at great risk, dharma demands gratitude and faithful reciprocity.
Sugrīva has benefited from Rāma’s intervention against Vāli; the verse reminds him that Rāma removed his fear and secured his kingship, so Sugrīva must now act for Rāma’s cause.
Rāma’s protective courage and Sugrīva’s expected virtue of kṛtajñatā (gratitude).
