Shloka 4.30.70
शरत्प्रवेशे रामविलापः तथा सुग्रीवप्रमादे लक्ष्मणप्रेषणम् (Autumn’s Onset: Rama’s Lament and Lakshmana Sent to Sugriva)
त्वं च किष्किन्धां प्रविश्य ब्रूहि वानरपुङ्गवम्।मूर्खं ग्राम्यसुखे सक्तं सुग्रीवं वचनान्मम।।
tvaṃ ca kiṣkindhāṃ praviśya brūhi vānarapuṅgavam |
mūrkhaṃ grāmyasukhe saktaṃ sugrīvaṃ vacanānmama ||
And you, having entered Kiṣkindhā, speak on my behalf to Sugrīva, chief of the vānaras—that fool engrossed in vulgar pleasures.
'Go to Kishkinda and speak (on my behalf ) to that fool, Sugriva, the chief of monkeys who is revelling in habitual sensual pleasures
Rama uses the term 'mūrkham' out of righteous indignation because Sugriva has neglected his Dharma and the promise made to help find Sita, choosing instead to lose himself in sensual pleasures.
The term 'grāmyasukhe' (village/vulgar pleasures) implies a lapse in kingly duty. It suggests that Sugriva has prioritized personal gratification over the higher Dharma of gratitude and keeping one's word (Satya).
