हनूमत्संवादः / Hanuman’s Diplomatic Approach to Rama and Lakshmana
सम्पूज्य विधिवद्वीरौ हनुमान्मारुतात्मजः।उवाच कामतो वाक्यं मृदु सत्यपराक्रमौ।।
sampūjya vidhivad vīrau hanumān mārutātmajaḥ |
uvāca kāmato vākyaṃ mṛdu satyaparākramau ||
Hanuman, the Wind-god’s son, having duly honoured the two heroes, spoke gently to them as he deemed fit—those whose prowess was grounded in truth.
The valiant son of the Wind-god, Hanuman offered those heroes whose power came from their sense of truth due respect and spoke to them in all gentleness:
Proper conduct in meeting strangers: dharma begins with respectful protocol (vidhi) and gentle, truthful speech.
Hanuman formally greets Rama and Lakshmana near Pampa before questioning them, establishing a respectful diplomatic tone.
Vinaya (courtesy) and mṛdutā (gentleness), aligned with satya—the foundation of righteous strength.
