Shloka 4.29.26

हनूमता सुग्रीवस्य कालधर्मोपदेशः — Hanuman’s Counsel on Timely Ally-Duty

तदेवं शक्तियुक्तस्य पूर्वं प्रियकृतस्तव।रामस्यार्हसि पिङ्गेश कर्तुं सर्वात्मना प्रियम्।।

tad evaṃ śaktiyuktasya pūrvaṃ priyakṛtas tava |

rāmasyārhasi piṅgeśa kartuṃ sarvātmanā priyam ||

Therefore, O Piṅgeśa, since Rāma earlier did with all his strength what was dear to you, it is right that you now do, with your whole being, what is dear to Rāma.

'Therefore, O king of monkeys! you ought to oblige Rama wholeheartedly exerting all your strength, as he has done your work.

Piṅgeśa (epithet of Sugriva)

Dharma is reciprocal fidelity: when someone has served you wholeheartedly, righteousness requires you to respond with equal wholeheartedness—especially when bound by promise.

Hanuman crystallizes the moral argument: Rama fulfilled Sugriva’s need; now Sugriva must fulfill Rama’s need without half-measures.

Wholehearted commitment (sarvātmanā) in service—acting fully rather than partially or reluctantly.
