lakṣmaṇasya tu tadvākyaṃ pratipūjya hitaṃ śubham |

rāghavaḥ suhṛdaṃ snigdham idaṃ vacanam abravīt || 4.27.41 ||

Honoring Lakṣmaṇa’s auspicious and beneficial counsel, Rāghava spoke these affectionate words, warm with friendship.

'This sorrow which dampens one's daring spirit is given up. I shall now resort to such undaunted valour during my heroic exploits.

L
Lakṣmaṇa
R
Rāghava (Rāma)

Respecting good counsel—especially from a loyal well-wisher—is a dharmic act. Rāma shows that right leadership listens, honours, and responds with kindness rather than pride.

Lakṣmaṇa has advised Rāma; the narration now transitions to Rāma’s affectionate response.

Rāma’s humility and graciousness in receiving advice, and the affectionate bond between the brothers.
