Shloka 1.75.10
जामदग्न्य-रामसंवादः — Parashurama Confronts Rama with the Vaishnava Bow
ब्रुवत्येवं दशरथे जामदग्न्य: प्रतापवान्।अनादृत्यैव तद्वाक्यं राममेवाभ्यभाषत।।।।
bruvaty evaṃ daśarathe jāmadagnyaḥ pratāpavān | anādṛtyaiva tad-vākyaṃ rāmam evābhyabhāṣata || 1.75.10 ||
As Daśaratha spoke thus, the mighty Jāmadagnya, disregarding his words, addressed Rāma alone.
Disregarding these words of Dasaratha, the valiant son of Jamadagni said to Rama.
It highlights the ethical friction between spiritual/ascetic authority and royal authority; disregard of rightful speech can signal conflict and the need for disciplined restraint.
Daśaratha attempts to speak, but Paraśurāma bypasses him and focuses his challenge directly on Rāma.
Paraśurāma’s intensity and single-mindedness—he treats Rāma as the true agent of the deed and therefore the proper respondent.
