एकोनसप्ततितमः सर्गः — Daśaratha’s Departure to Videha and Marriage Arrangements
दिष्ट्या प्राप्तो महातेजा वसिष्ठो भगवानृषि:।।।।सह सर्वैर्द्विजश्रेष्ठैर्देवैरिव शतक्रतु:।
diṣṭyā prāpto mahātejā vasiṣṭho bhagavān ṛṣiḥ |
saha sarvair dvijaśreṣṭhair devair iva śatakratuḥ || 1.69.10 ||
By good fortune, the radiant and venerable sage Vasiṣṭha has arrived, accompanied by all the foremost twice-born—like Śatakratu (Indra) surrounded by the gods.
Most brilliant and adorable ascetic Vasishta surrounded by the foremost of brahmins like Indra by the gods has also arrived by the grace of God.
Ritual and social dharma: major life-rites are to be conducted under the guidance of qualified sages and brāhmaṇas, ensuring legitimacy and sanctity.
Daśaratha notes the auspicious arrival of his royal preceptor Vasiṣṭha along with eminent brāhmaṇas for the forthcoming marriage rites.
