त्रिशङ्कुस्वर्गारोহণम् — Trishanku’s Bodily Ascent and the New Constellations
विश्वामित्रवच श्श्रुत्वा सर्व एव महर्षय:।।।।ऊचुस्समेत्य सहिता धर्मज्ञा धर्मसंहितम्।
viśvāmitravacaḥ śrutvā sarva eva maharṣayaḥ || ūcuḥ sametya sahitā dharmajñā dharmasaṃhitam |
Having heard Viśvāmitra’s words, all the great seers—knowers of dharma and steadfast in righteousness—gathered together in concord and spoke in agreement with what is proper.
Agreeing to these words of Viswamitra all the rishis, knowers of spiritual order and endowed with righteousness assembled there said:
Dharma is upheld through communal discernment and harmony: the sages respond not impulsively but as a united body grounded in righteous judgment.
After Viśvāmitra states his intention regarding the sacrifice and Triśaṅku, the assembled sages confer and prepare a collective response.
The sages’ dharma-knowledge (dharmajñatā) and unity (sāhitya) in arriving at a righteous course of action.
