Shloka 1.41.21

अंशुमान्—अश्वान्वेषणम्, दिशागजसंवादः, कपिलदाहवृत्तान्तः, गङ्गोपदेशः (Anshuman’s Search for the Horse and the Counsel to Bring Ganga)

गच्छ चाश्वं महाभाग तं गृह्य पुरुषर्षभ।।।।यज्ञं पैतामहं वीर संवर्तयितुमर्हसि।

gaccha cāśvaṃ mahābhāga taṃ gṛhya puruṣarṣabha | yajñaṃ paitāmahaṃ vīra saṃvartayitum arhasi ||

Go now, O greatly fortunate one, O best of men—take that horse and return. O hero, it is right for you to bring your grandfather’s sacrifice to completion.

'O Highly fortunate one! O Best among men! go back with that horse. O Hero! Itbehoves of you to complete the sacrifice undertaken by your grandfather'.

Dharma values completion of rightful undertakings: sacred commitments (yajña) should not be left unfinished when their lawful continuation is possible.

After explaining the unique role of Gaṅgā for the departed, Garuḍa instructs Anśumān to retrieve the horse and ensure the sacrifice is completed.

Reliability and duty-fulfillment—carrying obligations to their proper end.
