बालकाण्ड सर्ग ३६ — गङ्गा-प्रभवप्रश्नः, शिवतेजोधारणं, कार्त्तिकेय-जन्म, उमाशापः

एवमुक्तस्सुरपति: प्रमुमोच महीतले।तेजसा पृथिवी येन व्याप्ता सगिरिकानना।।।।

Transliteration

evam uktaḥ surapatiḥ pramumocha mahītale |

tejasā pṛthivī yena vyāptā sagirikānanā ||

Translation

So instructed, the Lord released it upon the earth; by that potency the whole world was pervaded—mountains and forests alike.
