Therefore, O Viṣṇu, for the welfare of the gods, by your divine power (māyā-yoga) assume the form of the dwarf Vāmana and accomplish this highest auspicious work.
"O Visnu! perform this supreme, auspicious act assuming the form of a dwarf through, the power of illusion for the welfare of the devatas'.
Dharma is the protection of cosmic welfare through appropriate means: Viṣṇu’s intervention is requested in a form that restores balance with minimal disruption, aiming at loka-hita (world/gods’ welfare).
The devas explicitly request Viṣṇu to take the Vāmana form via māyā-yoga to resolve the Bali crisis.
Protective compassion and skill-in-means (upāya): the divine act is framed as ‘kalyāṇa’—an auspicious, welfare-oriented intervention.
