Shloka 1.29.14

सिद्धाश्रम-प्रसङ्गः (Siddhashrama and the Vāmana Narrative)

तमुवाच हरि: प्रीत: कश्यपं धूतकल्मषम्।वरं वरय भद्रं ते वरार्होऽसि मतो मम ।।1.29.14।।

śarīre tava paśyāmi jagat sarvam idaṃ prabho | tvam anādir anirdeśyas tvām ahaṃ śaraṇaṃ gataḥ || 1.29.13 ||

O Lord, within your body I behold this entire universe. You are beginningless and beyond description; to you I have come for refuge.

Addressing Kasyapa whose sins had been washed clean, Lord Visnu pleased (with his penance) said: "Be prosperous you are dear to me. Worthy of a boon. Ask."

Kāśyapa describes a cosmic vision of Viṣṇu and formally declares śaraṇāgati (taking refuge).

Humility and truth-oriented devotion: the willingness to accept the indescribable greatness of the divine and seek protection in it.
