O Kākutstha, tiger among men, O prince—I also bestow upon you two blazing maces, named Modakī and Śikharī.
Born in the race of kakutstha and a tiger among men, O Rama! I shall also grant two shining maces known as modaki and shikhari.
Royal power is meant for protection: the prince is armed not for pride, but to uphold social and sacrificial order against violence.
The sage adds two named maces to the set of divine weapons being transferred to Rāma.
Kṣātra-dharma (warrior duty) under guidance—strength is disciplined and directed toward rightful ends.
