विश्वामित्रस्य यज्ञरक्षा-याचना (Visvamitra Requests Rama for Yajna-Protection)
न च तौ राममासाद्य शक्तौ स्थातुं कथञ्चन।।।।न च तौ राघवादन्यो हन्तुमुत्सहते पुमान्।
na ca tau rāmam āsādya śaktau sthātuṁ kathañcana |
na ca tau rāghavād anyo hantum utsahate pumān ||
Once they come up against Rāma, those two cannot stand their ground in any way; and apart from Rāghava, no man has the power to undertake their destruction.
Both of them (Maricha and Subahu) will not be able to withstand Rama in any way. Rama, and Rama alone, is capable of destroying them.
Dharma is the protection of righteous rites and the innocent: the verse frames Rāma as uniquely capable of neutralizing threats to yajña, aligning strength with the duty to defend sacred order.
Viśvāmitra emphasizes to Daśaratha that the rākṣasas (Mārīca and Subāhu) cannot withstand Rāma, and that only Rāma can effectively stop them.
Rāma’s exceptional competence joined to protective duty—heroism directed toward safeguarding dharma rather than personal gain.
