पुत्रजन्मोत्सवः — Birth of the Princes and Viśvāmitra’s Arrival (Bālakāṇḍa 18)

ततः स राजा हृष्टात्मा तं विप्रं सह भार्यया ।

पूजयामास विधिवत् पूजां चक्रे च शास्त्रतः ॥

tataḥ sa rājā hṛṣṭātmā taṃ vipraṃ saha bhāryayā |

pūjayāmāsa vidhivat pūjāṃ cakre ca śāstrataḥ ||

Then the king, his heart brimming with joy, duly honored that brāhmaṇa together with his wife, performing the rites of welcome and reverence exactly as enjoined by the śāstras.

T
the king of Aṅga (Romapāda)
T
the brahmin (R̥śyaśṛṅga)
R
R̥śyaśṛṅga’s wife (Śāntā)

A ruler’s righteousness is shown by honoring the learned and performing duties according to śāstra; joy and success are grounded in disciplined adherence to dharma, not mere power.

After R̥śyaśṛṅga arrives with his wife, the king receives them with formal, scripturally prescribed honors, setting the stage for the sacrificial rites that will bring prosperity and fulfill the larger divine plan.
