O Rama, in this world there are six practical expedients by which all matters are weighed and decided; and when a person is tested by the turning of time, he must endure the portion of ill fortune that falls to his lot.

Thereafter shining brightly in pure clothes and wearing ornaments all over the body, Kabandha hurtled out happily and instantaneously from the pyre.

Dharma includes prudent discernment: one should evaluate circumstances with established means of reasoning/strategy, and also accept that hardship can arrive as a ‘share’ to be borne without abandoning righteousness.

Kabandha begins giving Rama counsel that blends moral steadiness with practical statecraft-like reasoning.

Rama’s resilience is being called forth—steadfast endurance guided by thoughtful judgment.
