गोदावरीतटे सीतान्वेषणम् — The Search for Sītā at the Godāvarī

न तां कुशलिनीं सीतां प्रदास्यन्ति ममेश्वराः।अस्मिन्मुहूर्ते सौमित्रे मम द्रक्ष्यन्ति विक्रमम्।।।।

If the gods do not restore Sītā to me safe and unharmed, then this very moment, O son of Sumitrā, they shall witness my power.

If the gods do not return my Sita safely to me, O Lakshmana ! they will witness my power right now.

Dharma is linked to accountability: even the gods are invoked as responsible for upholding moral order; when order fails, righteous force is threatened as a corrective.

Rāma demands Sītā’s safe return and warns that, if the divine powers do not ensure it, he will immediately demonstrate overwhelming prowess.

Protective fidelity and insistence on justice: Rāma refuses to accept a world where righteousness is not defended.
