O Lakṣmaṇa, look: I will fill the sky with my weapons and arrows, and today I will make it impossible for those who move through the three worlds to pass or descend freely.
O Lakshmana, just see, I will fill the sky with all my weapons and arrows and make all movements impossible in the three worlds.
The verse raises the dharmic tension between justice and proportionality: immense power is invoked for a righteous aim, yet it risks collateral harm, underscoring the need for restraint even in righteous causes.
Rāma threatens a cosmic-scale retaliation, describing how his arrows could choke the sky and halt movement across the three worlds.
Protective ferocity (ugra-rakṣaṇa): the capacity to act decisively against evil, rooted in devotion to Sītā and to moral order.
