गोदावरीतटे सीतान्वेषणम् — The Search for Sītā at the Godāvarī
नैव यक्षा न गन्धर्वा न पिशाचा न राक्षसाः।।।।किन्नरा वा मनुष्या वा सुखं प्राप्स्यन्ति लिक्ष्मण।
naiva yakṣā na gandharvā na piśācā na rākṣasāḥ |
kinnarā vā manuṣyā vā sukhaṃ prāpsyanti lakṣmaṇa |
O Lakṣmaṇa, neither yakṣas nor gandharvas, neither piśācas nor rākṣasas—nor even kinnaras or human beings—will find peace now, in the wake of this outrage.
O Lakshmana, neither yakshas, nor goblins nor demons nor kinneras nor humans will be in peace now.
Adharma is not private; it destabilizes the whole moral ecosystem. The abduction triggers a loss of peace across realms, implying that injustice spreads suffering widely.
Rāma, preparing to retaliate after Sītā’s abduction, declares that no class of beings will remain at ease as he unleashes his power.
