सीतावियोगे रामविलापः (Rāma’s Lament in Separation from Sītā)
सुव्यक्तं राक्षसैस्सीता भक्षिता वा हृतापि वा।।3.62.8।।न हि सा विलपन्तं मामुपसम्प्रैति लक्ष्मण।
sītāyāś ca vināśo 'yaṃ mama cāmitra-karśana | vistareṇa jananyā me vinivedyas tvayā bhavet || 3.62.20 ||
O Lakṣmaṇa, subduer of enemies—this ruin that has befallen Sītā and me should be reported by you to my mother, fully and in detail.
O Lakshmana! surely Sita is either devoured by demons or abducted. When I am weeping like this she is not coming to me.
Satya and filial duty: even in catastrophe, truthful communication to elders is treated as a responsibility, not avoided out of fear or shame.
After realizing Sītā is lost, Rāma instructs Lakṣmaṇa to convey the calamity to his mother, anticipating consequences for the royal household.
Accountability—Rāma faces the need for transparent reporting and does not conceal misfortune from family obligations.
