Shloka 3.12.13

अगस्त्याश्रमप्रवेशः तथा दिव्यायुधप्रदानम् (Entry into Agastya’s Hermitage and the Gift of Divine Weapons)

ततो निष्क्रम्य सम्भ्रान्तश्शिष्यो लक्ष्मणमब्रवीत्।।।।क्वासौ रामो मुनिं द्रष्टुमेतु प्रविशतु स्वयम्।

evam uktas tu muninā dharmajñena mahātmanā |

abhivādya abravīc chiṣyas tatheti niyatāñjaliḥ ||

Thus instructed by the great sage—knower of dharma—the disciple bowed in reverence and replied with folded hands, “So be it.”

Then the disciple in a state of excitement came out of the hermitage and said to Lakshmana, 'Where is Rama? Let him come himself to see the sage'.

Guru-śuśrūṣā and discipline: dharma is upheld through respectful obedience to a teacher who embodies righteous knowledge.

After Agastya orders that Rāma be welcomed, the disciple accepts the command respectfully and prepares to carry it out.

The disciple’s humility, self-control, and truthful compliance—expressed by reverent salutation and the clear assent “tathā.”
