Matsya Purana — Yadu Lineage
अनया संस्तुतो भक्त्या प्रश्रयेण दमेन च स्नेहेन चैव सुश्रोणि प्रीतो ऽस्मि वरवर्णिनि //
anayā saṃstuto bhaktyā praśrayeṇa damena ca snehena caiva suśroṇi prīto 'smi varavarṇini //
Praised by you with devotion—and also with humility, self-restraint, and affection—O fair-hipped one, O lovely-complexioned lady, I am pleased.
This verse does not describe pralaya directly; it highlights the virtues—devotion, humility, self-restraint, and affection—that make the divine interlocutor pleased, often preceding the granting of guidance or boons in Purana dialogues.
It presents a dharmic ideal: rulers and householders should cultivate bhakti (reverence), praśraya (respectful conduct), dama (self-control), and sneha (benevolence). These traits support righteous governance, disciplined living, and harmonious relationships.
No explicit Vastu or temple-architecture rule appears here; ritually, it reflects the stuti-ethic that sincere praise offered with humility and restraint is considered an effective prelude to receiving divine instruction or a boon.
