Matsya Purana — Yadu Lineage
वास्तोष्पते पिनाकाय मुक्तये केवलाय च मृगव्याधाय दक्षाय स्थाणवे भीषणाय च //
vāstoṣpate pinākāya muktaye kevalāya ca mṛgavyādhāya dakṣāya sthāṇave bhīṣaṇāya ca //
O Vāstoṣpati, obeisance to You as Pinākī, bearer of the Pināka bow; as the giver of mukti, liberation; as Kevala, the One beyond all; as Mṛgavyādha, the Hunter; as Dakṣa, the Capable; as Sthāṇu, the Immovable; and as Bhīṣaṇa, the awe-inspiring.
This verse does not describe pralaya directly; it functions as a Vāstu-related invocation, praising a deity through powerful epithets (notably Śiva-like names) to secure protection and auspiciousness for a site or dwelling.
For a householder (and likewise a king commissioning buildings), it supports the duty of establishing a home, temple, or settlement through proper ritual propriety—invoking the presiding power of the site (Vāstoṣpati) to remove obstacles and ensure stability, safety, and spiritual welfare.
It is a stuti/mantra-style naming sequence used in Vāstu rites: by reciting divine epithets (Pinākī, Sthāṇu, Bhīṣaṇa, etc.), the builder ritually “secures” the plot, pacifies harmful influences, and sanctifies construction in line with Matsya Purana Vāstuvidyā practice.
