Matsya Purana — The Ravi-Śayana
न बन्धुपुत्रेण धनैर्वियुक्तः पत्नीभिरानन्दकरः सुराणाम् नाभ्येति रोगं न च शोकदुःखं या वाथ नारी कुरुते ऽतिभक्त्या //
na bandhuputreṇa dhanairviyuktaḥ patnībhirānandakaraḥ surāṇām nābhyeti rogaṃ na ca śokaduḥkhaṃ yā vātha nārī kurute 'tibhaktyā //
A man is not left bereft of kinsmen, sons, or wealth; he becomes a source of delight even to the gods. He does not fall into disease, nor into grief and sorrow—when a woman (his wife) acts with exceptional devotion.
This verse does not address Pralaya; it focuses on dharma in household life, stating that devoted conduct within marriage brings well-being and divine approval.
It supports the Matsya Purana’s broader dharma framework by presenting marital devotion as a stabilizing force for a householder—linked to prosperity, health, and social order, which are also foundational for a ruler’s realm.
No direct Vastu or temple-architecture rule appears here; the significance is ethical/ritual in spirit—emphasizing devotional discipline (bhakti) as a source of auspiciousness in domestic life.
