Matsya Purana — The Ravi-Śayana

Having made a well-designed bed—free from improper knots and faulty joinings—one should also provide a pillow, a resting support, a comfortable bedding-spread, and a fan.
This verse does not discuss pralaya; it focuses on practical household arrangements—specifically the proper making of a bed and associated comfort-items.
It presents a householder-oriented standard of orderly living: maintaining proper, rule-compliant furnishings (free from defective fastenings) and ensuring basic comforts for rest—an aspect of disciplined domestic dharma.
Its Vastu-related significance is functional: furnishings should be correctly constructed (no unsuitable knots/joints) and complemented with supportive items (pillow, bedding, fan), reflecting norms for a well-appointed, harmonious dwelling.
