Salutations—worthy of reverent worship—to Varāha in the ears. By rightly hearing the praise of Janārdana, one becomes firmly established. In the Puṣya nakṣatra, worship the mouth for Dānavasūdana; and offer worshipful homage to Nṛsiṃha as well.

FAQs

This verse is not about Pralaya; it prescribes devotional, limb-associated salutations and auspicious timing (Puṣya) for worship of Vishnu’s forms, emphasizing śravaṇa (sacred hearing) as spiritually stabilizing.

It supports the householder/kingly duty of maintaining dharma through regular worship and attentive listening to sacred recitation (śravaṇa) of Janārdana’s praise, aligning personal discipline with public religio-ethical order.

Ritually, it indicates anga-wise worship (associating deities with body parts like ears and mouth) and a calendrical rule—performing worship in the Puṣya nakṣatra—useful for planning temple/household pūjā schedules.
