Matsya Purana — The Ārdrānandakarī Tṛtīyā Vrata: Ritual Procedure
गौरी मे प्रीयतां नित्यम् अघनाशाय मङ्गला सौभाग्यायास्तु ललिता भवानी सर्वसिद्धये //
gaurī me prīyatāṃ nityam aghanāśāya maṅgalā saubhāgyāyāstu lalitā bhavānī sarvasiddhaye //
May Goddess Gaurī be ever pleased with me; may Maṅgalā (the Auspicious One) destroy my sins; may Lalitā grant me good fortune; and may Bhavānī bestow complete success in all attainments.
This verse is not about pralaya; it is a devotional invocation seeking purification (sin-destruction) and auspicious outcomes, reflecting the Purāṇic emphasis on mantra and stuti as spiritual protection.
It supports the householder/kingly ideal of maintaining purity and auspicious order: removing pāpa (moral/ritual impurity), cultivating saubhāgya (prosperity and well-being), and seeking siddhi (successful completion) in righteous duties and rites.
Ritually, it functions as a concise Devi-stuti for anushthāna—recited to secure auspiciousness, remove obstacles, and ensure successful completion of rites (useful as a preparatory prayer before pūjā, vrata, or temple rituals).
