Matsya Purana — Soma
अभिवाद्य तु तौ तत्र कालापेक्षः स तिष्ठति प्रचस्कन्द ततः सोमम् अर्चयित्वा परिश्रमात् //
abhivādya tu tau tatra kālāpekṣaḥ sa tiṣṭhati pracaskanda tataḥ somam arcayitvā pariśramāt //
Having respectfully saluted those two there, he remained standing, awaiting the proper time. Then, wearied by his exertion, he hastened forward and thereafter worshipped Soma.
This verse does not describe Pralaya; it emphasizes disciplined ritual timing (kāla) and proper reverence before worship, reflecting dharmic order rather than cosmic dissolution.
It highlights core duties of etiquette and ritual discipline: offering respectful salutations, observing the correct timing for rites, and completing worship even after exertion—values applicable to both householders and rulers who uphold dharma through regulated conduct.
The ritual takeaway is kālāpekṣā—waiting for the auspicious/appointed time before proceeding—followed by Soma-arcana (worship of Soma). It underscores sequencing and timing rules central to Puranic temple and domestic worship practice.
