Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy
सुभद्रायां रथी पार्थाद् अभिमन्युरजायत यौधेयं देवकी चैव पुत्रं जज्ञे युधिष्ठिरात् //
subhadrāyāṃ rathī pārthād abhimanyurajāyata yaudheyaṃ devakī caiva putraṃ jajñe yudhiṣṭhirāt //
From Subhadrā, the chariot-warrior Abhimanyu was born to Pārtha (Arjuna). And Devikā likewise bore a son named Yaudheya to Yudhiṣṭhira.
This verse does not address pralaya; it is a genealogical statement listing births in the Pāṇḍava lineage, supporting the Purāṇic record of dynasties across ages.
By emphasizing legitimate succession and lineage, it reflects the Purāṇic ideal that kingship and household life sustain social order through responsible marriage, progeny, and continuity of dharma in the royal family.
No vāstu, temple-architecture, or ritual procedure is stated here; the verse is strictly genealogical and historical in purpose.
