Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy
इन्द्राद्धनंजयश्चैव इन्द्रतुल्यपराक्रमः नकुलं सहदेवं च माद्र्यश्विभ्यामजीजनत् //
indrāddhanaṃjayaścaiva indratulyaparākramaḥ nakulaṃ sahadevaṃ ca mādryaśvibhyāmajījanat //
From Indra was born Dhanañjaya (Arjuna), whose valor was equal to Indra’s; and from the Aśvin twins, Mādrī gave birth to Nakula and Sahadeva.
This verse is not about Pralaya; it is a genealogical notice describing divine paternity in the birth of the Pandavas.
Indirectly, it frames kingship as grounded in lineage and divinely sanctioned virtue: Arjuna’s ‘Indra-like valor’ and the Aśvins’ association with excellence support the Purāṇic ideal that rulers should embody strength, discipline, and public welfare.
No Vāstu/temple-building or ritual procedure is taught in this verse; its focus is dynastic genealogy and the divine origins of royal heroes.
