Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy
*मुनय ऊचुः प्रजाभिस्तु किमर्थं वै ह्य् अपध्यातो जनेश्वरः को दोषो राजपुत्रस्य प्रजाभिः समुदाहृतः //
*munaya ūcuḥ prajābhistu kimarthaṃ vai hy apadhyāto janeśvaraḥ ko doṣo rājaputrasya prajābhiḥ samudāhṛtaḥ //
The sages said: “For what reason, indeed, has the lord of men been censured by his subjects? What fault of the king’s son has been proclaimed by the people?”
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it focuses on Rajadharma—public criticism of a ruler and the alleged fault of a prince.
It frames a core Rajadharma issue: rulers (and those in authority) are accountable to the people, and allegations of wrongdoing—especially by the prince—must be examined and addressed justly.
No Vastu, temple-architecture, or ritual procedure is mentioned in this verse; it is a political-ethical inquiry about governance and public grievance.
