Matsya Purana — Mahāgaurī’s Entry
वृथैव वीरकः शप्तो मया क्रोधपरीतया अकार्यं क्रियते मूढैः प्रायः क्रोधसमीरितैः //
vṛthaiva vīrakaḥ śapto mayā krodhaparītayā akāryaṃ kriyate mūḍhaiḥ prāyaḥ krodhasamīritaiḥ //
In vain indeed was Vīraka cursed by me, for I was overcome with anger. For the foolish, stirred up by wrath, commonly do what ought not to be done.
This verse does not address pralaya directly; it teaches ethical psychology—how anger clouds judgment and leads to improper actions.
It warns rulers and householders alike to restrain krodha (anger), since decisions or punishments made in wrath become unjust and lead to harmful, unnecessary acts—especially reckless speech such as curses.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is mentioned; the takeaway is moral discipline (self-control) rather than technical instruction.
