Matsya Purana — Mahāgaurī’s Entry
इत्युक्ता तु तदा देवी चिन्तयामास चेतसा न सा नारीति दैत्यो ऽसौ वायुर्मे यामभाषत //
ityuktā tu tadā devī cintayāmāsa cetasā na sā nārīti daityo 'sau vāyurme yāmabhāṣata //
Thus addressed, the Goddess then pondered in her mind: “That demon said, ‘She is not a woman’—and the Wind spoke to me in that very manner.”
This verse does not discuss pralaya or cosmology; it focuses on a narrative moment of discernment where the Goddess reflects on words spoken by a demon and by Vāyu.
It highlights careful judgment (viveka): one should mentally review testimony, detect deception, and weigh counsel—an essential duty for rulers and householders when making ethical decisions.
No Vastu Shastra, temple-building, or ritual procedure is specified in this verse; its takeaway is psychological and ethical—mindful reflection before action.
