Matsya Purana — Kailasa
शिवपौरानिन्द्रमरून् वसतीन्समतेजसम् सैन्धवानुर्वसान्बर्बान् कुपथान्भीमरोमकान् //
śivapaurānindramarūn vasatīnsamatejasam saindhavānurvasānbarbān kupathānbhīmaromakān //
He (the text) also mentions the Śivapauras, the Indramarus, the Vasatis, the Samatejasas; likewise the Saindhavas, the Urvasas, the Barbas, the Kupathas, and the Bhīmaromakas—as groups of peoples/tribes.
This verse is not about Pralaya; it functions as an ethnographic/geographical catalog naming peoples and regional groups referenced in the Purana’s world-description.
Indirectly, such lists help frame a king’s realm and frontier awareness—knowing neighboring peoples and regions is part of prudent governance in Purāṇic political imagination, though no direct duties are stated here.
No Vāstu or ritual procedure is specified in this verse; it is primarily a naming of communities/tribes within the Purana’s geographic-ethnographic sections.
