Matsya Purana — Hiranyakashipu’s Boons
एषो ऽहं सगणं दैत्यं वरदानेन दर्पितम् अवध्यममरेन्द्राणां दानवेन्द्रं निहन्म्यहम् //
eṣo 'haṃ sagaṇaṃ daityaṃ varadānena darpitam avadhyamamarendrāṇāṃ dānavendraṃ nihanmyaham //
“Here am I: I shall slay this Danava-king—this Daitya together with his followers—made arrogant by a boon, and deemed invulnerable even by the lords of the gods.”
This verse is not about Pralaya; it highlights divine intervention to restore cosmic order by defeating a boon-empowered demon leader.
It models the dharmic ideal of protecting the world from oppressive forces: a king, like the divine protector here, must restrain arrogance born of power and safeguard social order.
No Vastu or ritual procedure is specified in this verse; its focus is heroic resolve and the defeat of a boon-protected adversary.
