Matsya Purana — Glory of Tīrtha-Śrāddha: Best Times
तदेतन्नैमिषारण्यं सर्वतीर्थनिषेवितम् देवदेवस्य तत्रापि वाराहस्य तु दर्शनम् //
tadetannaimiṣāraṇyaṃ sarvatīrthaniṣevitam devadevasya tatrāpi vārāhasya tu darśanam //
This, indeed, is Naimiṣāraṇya—frequented and sanctified by all tīrthas. There, too, one attains darśana, the holy vision, of Varāha, the God of gods.
This verse does not describe pralaya directly; it emphasizes sacred geography—Naimiṣāraṇya as a supremely sanctified tīrtha where divine presence (Varāha-darśana) is accessible.
It supports the dharmic duty of undertaking tīrtha-yātrā and seeking divine darśana—acts traditionally recommended for householders and rulers to purify merit, uphold dharma, and renew spiritual discipline.
Ritually, the key point is darśana at a tīrtha: the verse implies the efficacy of pilgrimage and worship in a consecrated landscape (kṣetra), where seeing the deity (Varāha) is itself a meritorious religious act.
