Matsya Purana — Genealogy of the Śūra–Vasudeva
वसुदेवो महाबाहुः पूर्वमानकदुन्दुभिः देवमार्गस्ततो जज्ञे ततो देवश्रवाः पुनः //
vasudevo mahābāhuḥ pūrvamānakadundubhiḥ devamārgastato jajñe tato devaśravāḥ punaḥ //
Earlier, the mighty-armed Vasudeva was known as Ānakadundubhi. From him was born Devamārga, and from Devamārga in turn was born Devaśravā.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it is a genealogical statement recording succession in a royal lineage (Vasudeva → Devamārga → Devaśravā).
Indirectly, it supports the Matsya Purana’s emphasis on dynastic continuity: kingship and household life are framed as responsibilities that sustain lineage, social order, and the transmission of dharma across generations.
No Vastu/temple-building or ritual procedure is specified here; the verse functions purely as a lineage record using proper names and epithets.
