Matsya Purana — Genealogy of the Śūra–Vasudeva
*सूत उवाच ऐक्ष्वाकी सुषुवे शूरं ख्यातमद्भुतमीढुषम् पौरुषाज्जज्ञिरे शूराद् भोजायां पुत्रका दश //
*sūta uvāca aikṣvākī suṣuve śūraṃ khyātamadbhutamīḍhuṣam pauruṣājjajñire śūrād bhojāyāṃ putrakā daśa //
Sūta said: Aikṣvākī gave birth to Śūra, renowned and wondrous, worthy of praise. From Śūra—through Pauruṣā—ten sons were born in Bhojā.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it is a genealogical notice describing births within the Ikṣvāku-linked royal line.
Indirectly, it supports the Purāṇic ideal of dharmic continuity: legitimate succession and the preservation of lineage are presented as part of orderly kingship and social stability.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated in this verse; its focus is purely dynastic genealogy.
