Matsya Purana — Genealogy of Kaśyapa: Ādityas
एवमाद्यास् तु बहवो बाणज्येष्ठा गुणाधिकाः बाणः सहस्रबाहुश् च सर्वास्त्रगणसंयुतः //
evamādyās tu bahavo bāṇajyeṣṭhā guṇādhikāḥ bāṇaḥ sahasrabāhuś ca sarvāstragaṇasaṃyutaḥ //
Thus there were many others of that kind—pre-eminent with Bāṇa as the eldest—surpassing in virtues. And Bāṇa, the thousand-armed one, was endowed with hosts of every weapon.
This verse does not discuss pralaya; it is a genealogical-heroic description highlighting Bāṇa’s supremacy and martial endowment.
Indirectly, it reflects the Purāṇic ideal of kṣatra power—leadership, excellence in qualities, and readiness in arms—used in lineage narratives to define royal or heroic legitimacy.
No Vāstu or ritual procedure is mentioned; the focus is on lineage status (jyeṣṭha) and mastery of astras (weapons).
