*ऋषय ऊचुः कथं सूतात्मजः कर्णः कथमङ्गस्य चात्मजः एतद् इच्छामहे श्रोतुम् अत्यन्तकुशलो ह्य् असि //
*ṛṣaya ūcuḥ kathaṃ sūtātmajaḥ karṇaḥ kathamaṅgasya cātmajaḥ etad icchāmahe śrotum atyantakuśalo hy asi //
The sages said: “How is Karṇa the son of a sūta (charioteer), and how is he also the son of Aṅga? We wish to hear this—indeed, you are exceedingly skilled in narration.”
Nothing directly—this verse is a genealogical inquiry focused on Karṇa’s parentage and social designation, not on Pralaya or cosmic cycles.
Indirectly, it highlights the Purāṇic concern for lineage, legitimacy, and social identity—topics that shape royal succession, inheritance, and dharmic reputation in kingship narratives.
None explicitly; the verse is narrative (vamśa/itihāsa) rather than Vāstu or ritual instruction.
