Matsya Purana — Description of Gomedaka and Puṣkara Dvīpas; the Lokāloka Boundary; Ocean Tide...
विस्तारान्मण्डलाच्चैव गोमेदाद्द्विगुणेन तु त्रिंशद्वर्षसहस्राणि तेषु जीवन्ति मानवाः //
vistārānmaṇḍalāccaiva gomedāddviguṇena tu triṃśadvarṣasahasrāṇi teṣu jīvanti mānavāḥ //
In extent it is twice that of Maṇḍala and likewise of Gomeda; and the humans who dwell in those regions live for thirty thousand years.
This verse is not about Pralaya; it belongs to cosmographic description, comparing the extent of regions and stating a characteristic lifespan (30,000 years) for humans living there.
Indirectly, it frames a Puranic worldview where different lands have different measures and lifespans; such cosmography supports dharmic governance by situating human life within a larger cosmic order rather than giving a direct rule of conduct.
No explicit Vastu or ritual procedure is stated; the technical point is comparative measurement (dviguṇa—‘double’) and the traditional longevity assigned to inhabitants of the described regions.
