Matsya Purana — Bhīma-Dvādaśī
कथान्ते भीमसेनेन परिपृष्टः प्रतापवान् त्वया पृष्टस्य धर्मस्य रहस्यस्यास्य भेदकृत् //
kathānte bhīmasenena paripṛṣṭaḥ pratāpavān tvayā pṛṣṭasya dharmasya rahasyasyāsya bhedakṛt //
At the end of the discourse, the mighty and valorous one—questioned by Bhīmasena—set forth the distinguishing explanation of this secret teaching of Dharma, just as you have asked.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya directly; it serves as a transition stating that a ‘secret of dharma’ is being clarified through careful distinctions after a question-and-answer exchange.
It highlights that dharma is subtle and must be understood through precise distinctions (bheda). This framing supports the Matsya Purana’s broader method: rulers and householders should seek clarification from authoritative instruction before acting.
No specific Vastu or ritual procedure is named in this verse; its significance is methodological—introducing an esoteric clarification—often the kind of framing used before detailing technical rules elsewhere in the Matsya Purana.
