Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas
Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana
ततो मुज्जवटं गच्छेत् स्थानं देवस्थ धीमत:
tato mujjavaṭaṁ gacchet sthānaṁ devastha dhīmataḥ
Then one should proceed to Mujjavaṭa, the sacred abode of the gods, a place associated with a wise and holy presence.
पुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse functions as a prescriptive step in a dharmic itinerary: one should move from one sacred site to the next, honoring places regarded as divine abodes and thereby cultivating reverence, discipline, and religious merit.
Pulastya continues giving directions within a sequence of tīrtha descriptions, instructing the listener to go next to a place called Mujjavaṭa, characterized as a devastha—an abode associated with the gods and a wise/holy presence.
