Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas

Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana

ततश्वाष्टगुणं पार्थ प्राप्स्यसे धर्ममुत्तमम्‌ । भीष्म: कुरूणां प्रवरो यथापूर्वमवाप्तवान्‌,कुन्तीनन्दन! कुरुप्रवर भीष्मने पहले जिस प्रकार तीर्थयात्राजनित पुण्य प्राप्त किया था, उससे भी आठगुने उत्तम धर्मकी उपलब्धि तुम्हें होगी

tataś cāṣṭaguṇaṃ pārtha prāpsyase dharmam uttamam | bhīṣmaḥ kurūṇāṃ pravaro yathāpūrvam avāptavān, kuntīnandana ||

Then, O Pārtha, you will attain a supremely excellent merit of dharma—eightfold in measure. Just as Bhīṣma, the foremost among the Kurus, had formerly obtained the religious merit born of pilgrimage, so too, O son of Kuntī, will you gain an even greater share of that righteous fruit.
