Educational Q&A

Even in moments of intense personal emotion, Damayantī acts within dharma: she seeks her parents’ approval and proceeds with decorum. The verse highlights ethical restraint, respect for elders, and compassionate responsibility in relationships.

Damayantī, after obtaining permission from her father and mother, arranges for Nala to be brought into the inner royal residence—specifically to the place where she stays—setting the stage for their emotionally charged meeting.
