Arjuna’s Himalayan Departure and the Commencement of Severe Tapas

तस्य तद्‌ वचन श्रुत्वा किरातस्यार्जुनस्तदा । रोषमाहारयामास ताडयामास चेषुभि:,किरातकी वह बात सुनकर उस समय अर्जुनको बड़ा क्रोध हुआ। उन्होंने बाणोंसे उसपर प्रहार आरम्भ किया

tasya tad vacanaṃ śrutvā kirātasya arjunas tadā | roṣam āhārayāmāsa tāḍayāmāsa ceṣubhiḥ ||

Hearing those words spoken by the Kirāta, Arjuna at once became inflamed with anger. He gathered his wrath within and began to strike the hunter with volleys of arrows.
