देवैरप्यापद: प्राप्ता#छन्नैश्व बहुशस्तथा । तत्र तत्र सपत्नानां निग्रहार्थ महात्मभि:,“महामना देवताओंको भी जहाँ-तहाँ शत्रुओंके निग्रहके लिये अनेक बार छिपकर रहना और विपत्तियोंको भोगना पड़ा है
devair apy āpadaḥ prāptāś channaiś ca bahuśas tathā | tatra tatra sapatnānāṁ nigrahārthaṁ mahātmabhiḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Even the gods have met with calamities; and many times, for the sake of subduing their enemies, those great-souled ones have had to remain concealed here and there and endure adversity. The point is that hardship and strategic concealment can be righteous when undertaken to restrain hostile forces and uphold order.
