चतुर्वर्षशतायुर्मे भर्ता लब्धश्न सत्यवान् | भर्तुर्हि जीवितार्थ तु मया चीर्ण त्विदं ब्रतम्,पाँचवें वरके रूपमें मुझे मेरे पति सत्यवान् चार सौ वर्षोकी आयु लेकर प्राप्त हुए हैं। पतिके जीवनकी रक्षाके लिये ही मैंने यह व्रत किया था
Transliteration
caturvarṣaśatāyur me bhartā labdhaḥ śn satyavān | bhartur hi jīvitārthaṃ tu mayā cīrṇaṃ tv idaṃ vratam |
Translation
As my fifth boon, I obtained my husband Satyavān endowed with a lifespan of four hundred years. Indeed, it was solely for the protection of my husband’s life that I undertook and observed this vow.
